Alicia Herder is an award-winning writer-director and Spirit Award and GLAAD Media Award nominated producer. Her short films, Good Girl and Diego on my Mind, have been applauded for their artistry and prevalence in regional film festivals. Good Girl received the James Bridges Production Award from the Bridges-Larson Foundation, a $25,000 production grant. Diego on my Mind is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime. The Girl who Cried Wolf is a Finalist for the 2024 Producer’s Guild of America Create program, the NYC PANO Microgrants, and a current Semifinalist in the 2024 Austin Film Festival.
Alicia is a 2024 Creative Producer Fellow in the Women in Film Fellowship program. In her producing work, Alicia champions women to tell their stories. Alicia produced Patricia Vidal Delgado’s feature film, La Leyenda Negra, which was an Official Selection at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020. In 2021, La Leyenda Negra was nominated for a Film Independent John Cassavetes Spirit Award and a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding TV Movie. Alicia recently produced the feature film, Flesh and Blood, starring Broadway star, Bianca Marroquín. Flesh and Blood will be hitting the 2025/2026 film festival circuits.
Alicia has an M.F.A. in Film Directing from UCLA. She was the recipient of the Army Archerd Award and Motion Picture Association of America Award. Alicia was a Finalist in Directing at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in 2014. She received a B.A. in Theater Directing and a B.A. in Media Production from Ball State University.
Alicia truly believes that by lifting up the voices of all women, we will create more complex and heartfelt stories, initiate a dialogue for change, and enact that change into the world.
