About me
Two truths and a lie about Katy Dore.
1) she turned down an invitation to lunch with Queen Elizabeth,
2) she spent several summers fighting forest fires in Northern California,
3) she saved the lives of three people with CPR, one of whom was her father.
The lie was the opening sentence. All three are "truths".
Katy creates TV and film projects with relatable stories and social relevance. She has received numerous writing and directing awards.
At AFF 2024, her feature film PIPER, about a queer, female musician in the 1940s, is a SECOND ROUNDER. Her horror/thriller script, GOT YOUR BACK, is a SEMI-FINALIST and will be given a Live Script Read at AFF on Saturday, 26th, at 2:00 pm.
Katy earned a BA at Stanford University and an MFA at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. When Katy isn’t writing or directing, you can find her playing tennis, body boarding, or fly-fishing.
