About me
Norman Yi Li is a writer-director with a background in cognitive sciences. His work delves into the complexities of the human psyche, the evolution of identity, and the societal impacts of emerging technologies. He is an alum of the Pacific Screenwriting Program, where he wrote an episode for an original series created by Will Pascoe, later optioned by Skydance Media. In 2024, Norman participated in the Sloan Science and Technology Project Pitch at the Toronto International Film Festival and was selected as a writer-in-residence for the WBD Access x Canadian Academy Writers Program. He was a semi-finalist at the 2023 Austin Film Festival Script Competitions, and his short films have been featured at the Whistler Film Festival and the Vancouver Asian Film Festival. He has also worked as a writers’ assistant on Netflix’s hit series The Night Agent and as a writers’ intern on the Canadian series Sight Unseen. Norman is represented by the Independent Artist Group.
