About me
Samantha (Sam) Shaber is the daughter of screenwriter David Shaber (THE WARRIORS, HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER). She's placed Second Rounder and Semifinalist for her hourlong TV pilot ED FRINGE, based on the summer of 1988 which she spent at the Edinburgh Fringe theater festival with actor George Takei, and she placed in the 2023 CineStory competition with her 1/2-hour comedy IVFU, a fantastical version of her struggle to become an indie musician and a mother, which is currently making the rounds with showrunner Melissa Blake attached. Sam's latest script, which she also plans to direct, is comedy feature PEEPING MAUREEN, about a Scottish grandmother stalking a young South African opera singer across Europe in hopes of winning his love.
As a singer/songwriter Sam has released 12 albums and toured over 200,000 miles across the world. She's an award-winning live storyteller, Moth winner and UCB host whose one-woman musical “Sam Shaber: Life, Death & Duran Duran” debuted to 5-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival then in New York and LA, and inspired the acclaimed true-life podcast IVFU on which her comedy pilot is based.
