About me
I began my career at LucasArts Entertainment Company, building Star Wars games for the PC and early consoles: titles like Jedi Knight, Rogue Squadron and Republic Commando. I was a level designer then, primarily focused on creating challenging and fun player experiences, but my colleagues found out I could write, so I added story, dialogue and cinematics to my job description. After that, I joined Telltale Games, where I helped write and design for their very first Walking Dead games, as well as a fable-noir called Wolf Among Us, and marquee titles like Game of Thrones, Batman, and Minecraft. I also developed that little piece of Telltale text that pops up now and again: “So-and-so will remember that.” The phrase became an emblematic piece of player feedback specific to the challenges of interactive narrative— and one which after 10+ years still hasn’t *really* been improved on (whether one loves or hates it!) I’ve spoken before at Austin Film Festival on writing for video games, and also the challenges of writing for AR/VR non-linear narrative experiences. And I still stand in awe at the skill of great screenwriters, so I am extremely excited to be at AFF once again.
