About me
I am a writer with a love for both prose and film. Currently exploring different genres and mediums. Developing my skills as a screenwriter. Near term projects include a rewrite of a film-short about a man finding an unexpected life path after tragedy and finishing a short story about a man's discovery of himself after his exposure to a hidden tribe deep within the rainforest. After those are complete, I plan to focus my energies on a feature length story idea that has been calling me. It is about a young man going off to war for all the wrong reasons, but is guided ultimately by his highest principles. I have also written essays and political commentaries. A few published on Medium.
My career background includes nearly 40 years in both military service and as a civilian within defense intelligence. My defense career allowed me to travel extensively. I have lived in the US Midwest, South, and briefly on the West-coast. I also lived in South Korea for five years. Before I served in the military and while living in both Chicago and in Florida, I worked on frigid loading docks. I delivered flowers, sometimes through the creepy back corridors of funeral homes. I was a waiter and a dish washer. I painted houses for elderly homeowners on a budget. I did a dozen other very dull and sometimes interesting things. All adding to life's experiences.
My academic focus includes a Master's in Global Studies and Foreign Affairs, as well as degrees in Asian Studies, Political Science and Intelligence Analysis. As a young buck, I studied fine art and photography.
